Benefits of PPEC Services with Florida Pediatric Care Centers
Our center is open up to 12 hours a day, including Saturdays until 6pm. Nursing care at the center replaces home nursing, transportation is free, and families get a daily update. Children spend the day with other children, which matters for emotional and social growth as much as any therapy session.
Calmer, steadier emotions
Children learn to name what they feel and to settle themselves when they are upset. That makes the day easier for them and for everyone around them.
Healthy habits and routines
Predictable routines lower stress for medically fragile children. Therapy helps build habits around sleep, meals, transitions and care tasks.
Thinking and problem-solving
Children practice trying a different approach when the first one does not work, which builds confidence and flexibility.
Fewer outbursts
Therapists work on impulsivity, defiance and tantrums, and give staff and parents a shared way to respond.
Coping with hard days
Medical care can be uncomfortable and tiring. Children learn ways to cope with procedures, changes and setbacks
PPEC Behavioral Therapy at Our Center
Our behavioral therapists work with your child during their normal day at the center. They watch how your child responds to routines, other children and staff, then build a plan around what they see. Nurses and care staff follow the same plan, so your child gets a consistent response from every adult in the room. We share what is working with you so you can use it at home.
- Enhanced cognitive development
- Better social interaction with peers and adults
